This piece marks the first part of my High-Poly Series which seeks to integrate nature with math based illustration in unique and interesting ways.

The work begins with an inspiring photograph, then through interpretive and geometric shapes the creative process begins to blend and form its own unique expression.

The result becomes a multi-layered space which blurs the boundaries of transformation, creating a colorful echo and depth that lifts the image from its two dimensional surface.

This High-Poly digital illustration features a Lilac-Breasted Roller perched upon a tree limb. Drawn in vector format natively using a CMYK color profile.

Including more than 5000 shape layers almost entirely consisting of triangles, this illustration took approximately 60 hours to complete from start to finish.
